The AppSense Management Suite is used to increase user performance, system security and streamline management.

add3 believe that the AppSense Management Suite is an essential companion to Citrix or Terminal Server implementations to maximise performance, stability, control and security. In addition, it is an effective in standardising and securing laptop and workstations configuration and builds.

There are three components of the Management Suite, which are outlined in more detail below.

AppSense Application Manager

Application Manager stops ALL unauthorised executables including those introduced via email or internet access. Only applications that have been installed by an Administrator, and explicitly enabled can be run by users. It allows for compete control of all the processes running on a server or workstation and can protect the system from all unknown and malicious code.

AppSense Performance Manager

Performance Manager allows granular control of all system resources, providing comprehensive workload management and optimisation. Performance Manager can be configured to fully manage CPU and memory usage, to ensure that the allocation of server resources is not driven the application developers' requirements, but by the true business requirements.

add3 consider some of the many highlights s to be; Physical Memory Control, where unused memory is returned to the pool when an application is minimised or in the background. CPU Smart Scheduling applies a more even hand to sharing resource among tasks and users and ensures that there is always CPU available for new processes. The Optimizer component saves system resources by loading a single copy of DLL's etc which are shared by many users where they would normally have loaded a copy each into memory.

AppSense Environment Manager

Environment Manager simplifies the configuration, lock-down and maintenance of system and user environments. It can be used to fully manage all user settings thereby enabling the dynamic creation of the users' environment at login. In addition, it can be used to lockdown application features such as disabling specific menu items, and to "Self Heal" user configurations, to allow fully customised, and streamlined user environment.

Environment Manager is also commonly used to enable hybrid user profiles. This gives all of the benefits of a roaming profile, but ensures that the profile is small and efficient leading to considerable savings in logon times.

AppSense Management Suite Integration

The AppSense Management Suite provides full granular management of the entire user environment allowing the business to centrally drive the allocation, presentation and security of all system resources, to help an organisation achieve real Return of Investment.

The AppSense Management Suite integrates with Microsoft SoftGrid, Citrix Presentation Server and Streaming Server and Ardence, thereby creating a complementary solution to maximise application deployment effectiveness.
